Investigation of Periodic Motions of Ball-Type Automatic Balancer System
Ball-type automatic balancers have been widely used to suppress the unbalanced vibration of rotor systems. However, instead of reaching the desired perfect balancing position, the system may settle into a pure-rotary periodic motion that significantly deteriorates the vibration condition of the rotors. In this project, we investigate how system parameters affect the dynamic behavior of the balancer system. A guideline of reducing the unwanted periodic motion is proposed.
