MENG-HSUAN 'MARK' TIEN 田孟軒

Dr. Tien joined the Department of Power Mechanical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University as an Assistant Professor in August 2020 after receiving his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University in May 2020. Dr. Tien earned his bachelor's degree from National Central University in 2009 and master's degree from National Taiwan University in 2011, both in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Tien currently directs the research at the Nonlinear & Structural Dynamics Lab.

Research

Dr. Tien's research is centered on nonlinear dynamics, with a primary emphasis on computational modeling and experimental exploration of structural systems. His work has led to the development of innovative computational tools, enabling the analysis and control of high-dimensional systems across various engineering domains. These include modeling and analysis of aerospace systems, system identification for nonlinear structures, vibration control for automation machinery, and optimization of vibration energy harvesting systems.
